Deliver Serviceable Concrete Slabs-on-Ground

The PD3 Basket® assembly used at the saw-cut contraction joints in a "strategic reinforcement" design helps you reliably deliver a serviceable slab in a competitive environment. Concrete slabs-on-ground must be able to withstand the repetitous, concentrated loads and abrasion of wheeled traffic at the weakest point - the joints.

The PD3 Basket® assembly helps you:

  • Optimize the amount of steel in a project
  • Collect retainage
  • Reduce call backs
  • Save labor
  • Deliver serviceable slabs-on-ground
  • Shorten construction schedules

Design Advantages

  • Unique tapered plate allows the slab to move horizontally in all directions without restraint
  • Limits differential deflection across joints to minimize joint spalling
  • Provides immediate vertical load transfer with the thinly and evenly factory applied de-bonding agent
  • Provides more steel at the joint where the bearing, shear and flexural stress are the highest
  • Accommodates up to four inches of misalignment during construction

Installation Advantages

  • Fully welded assemblies, offering stable dowel support during installation
  • Requires fewer man hours for installation than historical methods
  • Easy to handle - can be carried and installed by one person during concrete placement
  • Allows for easy subgrade leveling at any point prior to concrete placement to prevent rutting, restraint and cracking
  • Construction tolerances allow for misalignment of the saw-cut over the middle of the basket by two inches either way without causing restraint in the panels
  • Can be located up to within six inches of the joint intersection
  • Bundled and shipped on skids for easy shipping and handling on the jobsite
  • Custom and stock baskets available through national distribution network
